Halloween Ideas

Halloween is a fun time of year for both kids and adults. Kids love to get all dressed up in their favorite costumers and go trick or treating on Beggars Night. Many adults get in on the fun as well. Halloween parties are perfect for playing dress-up, no matter how old you are!

A costume party is fun almost any time of year, but holds special significance on Halloween. There are so many fun ways to dress up. Some women find it fun to dress up as a pirate, French maid or even an angel. Witch costumes are another big hit, as are wild women biker outfits. Fairy or pixie costumes are also popular.

Guys can also dress up like pirates, complete with a swashbuckling sword! Dressing up as biker in a vest, gloves, skull cap and even a tattoo shirt is also amusing. If you really want to go all out, get a full body gorilla or chicken costume and spend the evening playing pranks on everyone that you know.

Kids often have very definite ideas regarding how they want to dress up for Halloween. Many of them like to emulate their favorite characters. Boys’ favorites include ninja costumes, fighter pilots or soldiers, and of course, pirates. Even a cape can be paired with a number of things to create a vampire costume or even a magician’s outfit.

Little girls often have a wide array of choices for Halloween. Every year, some of the favored costumes include angels, witches and fairies. Some will enjoy dressing up in a Spanish senorita dress. Princesses are usually a top choice as well. What little girl hasn’t dressed up as Cinderella at least one year for Halloween?

Halloween party decorations are imaginative and creative. Zombie heads, fake snakes and plastic spiders can all be incorporated easily into the Halloween theme. Fake tombstones can be placed strategically inside and outside of the party. Fake skulls and a talking cut-off head can also add to the scary and sometimes funny ambience. Why not tie a realistic looking upside down spinning corpse to your dining room chandelier?

Pranks and practical jokes abound at Halloween. Put a floating eyeball in someone’s drink or set a glowing brain on the kitchen counter. A creepy hand beside the punch bowl or a lone finger next to a plate of appetizers is sure to inspire some ghoulish fun.

Spider web decorations and orange and black streamers are a must-have for any Halloween party decoration. Black lights can cast an eerie glow and can add scary detail to glow in the dark accessories. Strobe lights can be used as well. Halloween props, like a crystal ball or a haunted chandelier, are two more ways to add some spookiness to a party.

There are a number of ways to make Halloween fun. Costumes aren’t just for little kids and adult costumes can be spooky or funny, and are often both. Halloween is the perfect time of year to let your imagination go wild, whether you’re an adult or child.
